Woman Hospitalized After Jumping From Burning Home In Northeast Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A woman suffered a broken leg when she jumped from the third story of a Northeast Philadelphia home on Monday night. The decision was made as the house was on fire and crews were called out to the incident around 9:40 p.m.

The incident took place at 8249 in the city's Holmesburg section.

Authorities say that crews discovered heavy smoke and fire throughout the home upon arrival.

The woman who jumped for her life, is 33-year's old. She was transported to Aria Health Torresdale Campus.

Officials say a 65-year-old woman was also transported to the hospital after suffering smoke inhalation.

The fire was placed under control shortly before 10:00 p.m.
