PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — A man is behind bars after he picked the wrong house to try to burglarize in Manayunk.

It was early Saturday morning when police say a man tried to break into a home along Station Street near Pennsdale Street.

Authorities say the suspect was using tools and attempting to pick the lock when the door opened and the homeowner, an off-duty Pennsylvania State Trooper, was standing there. He grabbed the suspect and held on until Philadelphia Police arrived and took him into custody.

It wasn’t clear if the trooper was being targeted or if the thief picked the house at random.

Nobody was hurt and charges are pending.
