Realtors Honor High-End Realtors In Philadelphia Who Give Back Through Community Service

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Some of Philadelphia's premier realtors sell a lot of homes. But they also give back to charitable organizations and the communities in which they live. They were honored at a luxury condo project under construction, at the entrance to Schuylkill River Trail.

Developer Carl Dranoff announced the winners in the showroom of his One Riverside, the 22-story tower going up at 25th and Locust Streets.

"What this is about is community," Dranoff said. "It's not just about making money, building buildings and selling properties."

Dranoff Properties recognized seven people from four real estate companies for their selfless efforts, acts of kindness and dedication to the neighborhoods in which they live and sell.

Allan Domb is ranked as one of the top residential brokers in the U.S. for the past 35 years.

"Alan isn't just about real estate," Dranoff said. "Allan has a passion for the city."

Domb, who self-funded his campaign, is now a freshman Councilman-At-Large.

"The most important thing for real estate in Philadelphia is a healthy city, and not just for us," Domb said. "We have 400,000 people in Philadelphia who are in poverty."

Domb said he's committed to lowering the poverty rate, increasing graduation rates, collecting delinquent taxes owed to the city, and promoting job growth.

Other realtors mentioned at the event include Sean Kaplan, Kristin Daly, Brett Bender, Marc Hammarberg, Linda Knox and Skye Michiels.
