LeSean McCoy Addresses Alleged Assault For First Time

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- LeSean McCoy was spotted at Misconduct Tavern, of all places, on Wednesday night.

Just a day after video was released of an alleged assault on two-off duty police officers involving McCoy, the ex-Eagles running back talked about the incident for the first time in a statement captured by Sean Brace of PhillyInfluencer.com.

Brace, who got a tip that McCoy was eating dinner at Misconduct Tavern at 18th and JFK Boulevard around 5:10 p.m. E.T with about six or seven friends, joined 94WIP's Brian Haddad on Wednesday and is confident McCoy admitted he made a mistake.

"I walked outside [when they were done eating] and I just timed it perfect," Brace said to WIP. "I was not expecting him to be cool and sure as hell wasn't expecting him to say I made a mistake. I was not expectign that at all. And he said, exact words, 'I made a mistake and sooner or later I'm looking forward to having my say.'

"I could not believe it" Brace said to WIP.

Some believe McCoy actually says, "I will make a statement later" around the :22 mark instead of, "I made a mistake."

Furthermore, Brace explained how awkward it was seeing ESPN reporting that McCoy is expected to be arrested on the TV behind McCoy himself!

"There was a gigantic TV right behind their heads, right behind their table, and the bottom line was on ESPN and there it was, 'Adam Schefter reporting charges might be coming.' And they were looking at it. Like they were watching the TV," Brace said. "It was really weird."

The alleged assault involving McCoy took place at Recess nightclub in Olde City early Sunday morning.
