Former Philadelphia FBI Agent Seeks Adventure On 'Survivor'

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- One of the contestants for this year's season of Survivor is a Philadelphia man named Joseph Del Campo. The 72-year old will compete on the 32nd season of the show for a chance to win $1 million.

The latest season of the CBS hit series begins on February 17 and will take place in Kaoh Rong, Cambodia.

Del Campo is a retired FBI agent of 25 years and a former Naval Officer. Following that, Del Campo has spent 18 years as a private investigator and security consultant.

At 71, Del Campo is clearly in impressive physical shape. "All my life, I've tried to be in shape," Del Campo said in a video posted by Survivor to introduce the newest cast. "We're given one body, so I want to try and keep that body as long as I can."

Survivor seems like the perfect series for Del Campo who describes himself as liking adventurous things. "This is like the top right here," Del Campo said of competing on the show. "To be able to be on an island, with a diverse group of people, most of them way younger than me, and be able to survive and get through 39 days of lack of food, social interaction and just love -- that's what I'm looking for."

Del Campo is originally from Philadelphia and now resides in Vero Beach, Florida.
