PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- There is a great deal of talk about concussions these days spurred on by what seems to be an epidemic in football and spurred on by the movie of the same name.
Classic football related head trauma goes under the classification traumatic brain injury and initial symptoms can include confusion, amnesia, inability to focus, headache, dizziness, fatigue, emotional changes and vomiting.
Repetitive head trauma can have an even more dramatic impact then one event potentially leading to chronic traumatic encephalopathy which is a progressive degenerative disease of the brain that effects memory, cognition and leads to a variety of behavioral problems.
