New Animal Planet Series Following Penn Vet Students Starts Filming Soon

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Lights, camera, action!

A new Animal Planet docu-series following fourth year students at University Of Pennsylvania's Veterinary School will begin filming later this month.

The show is called "PENN VET." There will be a core group of five or six fourth year students that will be followed. Penn Veterinarians will also be featured highlighting their accomplishments.

The series is being produced for Animal Planet by High Noon Entertainment where Sarah Presta is one of executive producers. She says in addition to Ryan Hospital for Companion Animal in University city, filming will also take place at New Bolton Center Hospital for Large Animals in Kennett Square, Chester County:

"Some of us producers took a tour of New Bolton just to kind of really get down and dirty with the details and it is amazing what they can do with large animal medicine now and it's really awe-inspiring."

There are six, one-hour long episodes planned. It will debut sometime this year. The exact air date has yet to be determined.
