McDonald's Is Offering Chocolate Covered French Fries

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- They say don't fix what's not broken, but we know in this area, that isn't always the case. For instance, we've seem some pretty interesting twists on a Philadelphia classic: the cheesesteak.

It can be as disastrous as it is fun to take the risk of messing with a classic and McDonald's is doing just that with chocolate covered french fries. Yes, you read that correctly.

McDonald's in Japan has come up with chocolate covered french fries. According to Bloomberg Business, the move comes in an effort to win back customers that the company feels were lost during recent food scandals.

The concoction is known as the "McChoco Potato."

McDonald's Japan is hoping the new menu addition will boost business and help them regain a positive image in the market. Should they be reinventing the french fry?

We'll have to wait and find out.
