Officials: Anonymous Threat Made Against Philadelphia, New York Police Departments

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --  An anonymous threat has been made against the Philadelphia Police Department, officials have confirmed.

We're told police received an anonymous phone call saying someone wanted to shoot an officer.

Police traced the call to an address in upper Manhattan, according to our sister station in New York City.

The threat was also directed at New York officers.

The NYPD is questioning a man in connection with the threat and authorities say the man is not the suspected caller.

Philadelphia Police officials say they cannot confirm specific details, but are working with the NYPD and the FBI to determine the credibility of the threat.

A department-wide safety alert has also been issued as a precaution, officials said.
