PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Turns out Sylvester Stallone wasn’t such a “terrible” choice to play Rocky Balboa.

Thursday morning, it was announced that Stallone is nominated for an Academy Award for his work in the movie “Creed.”

Stallone starred alongside Michael B. Jordan in the “Rocky” sequel. He is nominated for best supporting actor.

Recently, he won the Golden Globe for his reprisal of his Rocky character.

The Oscars will be held on February 28.
