Report: Phillies' Ryan Howard Sues Al Jazeera For Defamation
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Al Jazeera documentary, "The Dark Side: Secrets of the Sports Dopers," featured accounts that alleged performance enhancing drug use by several profile professional athletes, including Phillies slugger Ryan Howard.
Howard has reportedly filed a defamation lawsuit against Al Jazeera for the report. Joining Howard in suing the news source is Nationals third baseman Ryan Zimmerman who was also named in the documentary.
MLB.com's Todd Zolecki shared the statement released by Howard on Tuesday regarding the lawsuit.
Howard cited what in his opinion was "irresponsible reporting," on Al Jazeera's part for the lawsuit.
