Guns N' Roses Reuniting For Coachella Festival This April

By Michael Cerio

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- For the first time since 1993, the founding members of Guns N' Roses plan to take the stage again.

Over the span of two weekends in April, Axl and Slash will join the band's other original members as headliners at the Coachella Festival in Indio, California. The announcement was followed shortly by an emoji-overloaded confirmation from Rose himself.

Rumors have swirled for a while about the possibility of a reunion for the rock heavyweights, but given the delays and cancellations synonymous with Axl Rose, few thought they would see the day. Rose was scheduled to appear on ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live Tuesday night to promote the announcement. That appearance has since been cancelled, kicking off a new era for Guns N' Roses.

Also announced for Coachella this year is the reunion of LCD Soundsystem, who return after a five-year hiatus. Scottish DJ and Taylor Swift's special friend Calvin Harris will be headlining the third day of the festival. Passes to the California festival are available on Wednesday, January 6th.
