DNC Announces Hotel Assignments For Delegations
By Mike DeNardo
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The delegations coming to Philadelphia for next summer's Democratic National Convention now know where they'll be sleeping. The DNC has announced its list of hotel assignments.
Not everyone can stay where they want next July. The delegations from 57 states and territories have been assigned to 26 hotels in the region, from Lansdale to Center City to the airport. Democratic National Convention Committee CEO Leah Daughtry says the Committee worked to keep entire delegations in a single hotel.
"Delegation size, their own preferences, and their lottery numbers was a jigsaw puzzle that we've been working on for the past few weeks," said Daughtry.
Daughtry says two-thirds of the delegations got their first hotel choice, and 87 percent got one of their top five.
"I've worked on six of these now. And so, in every cycle there are people who are ecstatically happy, and there are folks who are not as happy."
