Police Warn Residents About Handyman Accused Of Stealing Wedding Ring

EVESHAM, N.J. (CBS) -- Authorities in South Jersey are urging anyone who may have had work done by a handyman service called Unlimited Services of West Deptford to check if they are missing any valuables.

Evesham Police say a handyman employed by the company has been charged with stealing a wedding ring from a home where he was hired to do work.

The victim called police Sunday and told them she noticed the jewelry missing just after 42-year-old Robert Basmajian finished up a job there.

Authorities monitored an electronic database and discovered Basmajian pawned the $12,000 ring.

They were able to get it back to the victim less than 24 hours after it was stolen.

Basmajian is charged with 3rd degree Theft.

A warrant has been issued for his arrest and his whereabouts are unknown.
