PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Authorities say a man was seriously injured after being shot and then crashing his SUV in North Philadelphia.

It happened around 2:45 a.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Germantown Avenue and Pike Street in the Hunting Park section of the city.

Police say a 47-year-old man was shot multiple times near Greene and Manheim Streets, then drove several miles before he crashed his Chevy Blazer into the front of a parked tractor-trailer.

The victim was trapped inside the vehicle, but was rescued and taken to Temple Hospital in critical condition.

Police say they found multiple bags of crack cocaine inside his vehicle.
