MOUNT LAUREL, N.J. (CBS) – Authorities say one person was taken to the hospital after a car smashed into a telephone poll Saturday, knocking live wires onto the vehicle, which caused it to catch fire.

This happened around 3:30 p.m. at the corner of South Church Street and Cobblestone Drive in Mount Laurel, New Jersey.

Crews were initially unable to fight the fire due to the live wires, but eventually got the flames under control.

There's no word yet on the victim's condition.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
