Family Of Vineland Mother, 3-Month-Old Baby Struggle With Baffling Disappearance

VINELAND, NJ (CBS) – Police in Vineland say they are investigating the disappearance of a mother and her three-month-old daughter.

Authorities say 34-year-old Neidy Ramirez and her daughter Genesis were last seen on Friday, November 27 in the area of Vineland, New Jersey.

Saturday afternoon, Ramirez's vehicle, a 2005 Chevy Trailblazer, was found abandoned on Route 55 northbound near milepost 45.3, police say.

"We're very worried about her and her child. We have no idea what's going on," Neidy's friend Stephanie Joyce said.

Authorities say a family friend saw the vehicle in the same spot early Saturday morning.

Police say Neidy Ramirez is approximately 5'7" and weighs around 140 pounds. She has brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a brown sweater, with brown striped pants, black shoes and a black cross necklace.

"This is very out of the ordinary for her," Detective Lieutenant Matt Finley told Eyewitness News.

"This is just not like her at all," Neidy's sister Diana Soto told Eyewitness News.

Genesis Ramirez is approximately 2 feet tall and weighs about 15 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.

Police ask anyone with information on their whereabouts to contact Vineland Police Criminal Division Main Extension 856-691-4111 x4180 or the Cumberland County Prosecutor's Office at 856-453-0486.
