Local Man Who Won World Series Of Poker Talks About Why He Chose To Wear Sixers Jersey

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A North Wales man won the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas. He stopped by the CBS broadcast center to talk to CBS3's Erica von Tiehl.

With family, friends, and even his broker looking on, twenty-four year-old Joe McKeehen bested another local man, Josh Beckley, of Burlington County, New Jersey, winning more than $7,680,000.

He was wearing a black Sixers jersey emblazened with Allen Iverson's number 3.

"I just like jerseys. I like Philly sports -- I want them to do better, they gotta step their game up. But I was out there, and I like to represent my city. So the jerseys seemed like a no-brainer to me."

When asked how much of his success in besting thousands of other tournament players is due to luck, and how much to skill, he said, "there's definitely a lot of skill involved, but there's definitely a lot of luck involved, too. You don't get through 6,000 people without getting lucky, that's for sure."
