PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Authorities say one woman has been taken to the hospital after being shot during a home invasion in the Port Richmond section of the city.

Police responded to a report of a home invasion around 3:15 a.m. at the 2000 block of Buckius Street.

Police say the suspects that burst in were wearing masks. A female was found shot at the residence.

Police took her to the hospital and she is in stable condition.

Neighbors say the woman just moved in not too long ago. They say they heard a loud bang followed by a lot of police activity after the invasion.

A neighbor, Tiffany O’Neill said she hasn’t seen anything like this.

“Scared now but don’t want to go to sleep now. I’ve been here for 12 years, I mean other stuff happened in the back, cars on fire, but not like this.”

Police are on the scene interviewing witnesses.
