Gov. Wolf, NJ Police: No Known Threats After Paris Attacks

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Gov. Tom Wolf is asking Pennsylvania residents to be vigilant and report suspicious activity following the Paris terror attacks but says "there remains no known imminent threat" to the commonwealth.

Wolf said the Office of Homeland Security has advised him that police in Philadelphia have stepped up security for the weekend. He said citizens may also experience increased security in other areas of the commonwealth.

The governor said Pennsylvania residents "should be vigilant, remain patient and be respectful" to law enforcement officers.

In New Jersey, State Police also say after the recent deadly attacks there is no credible threat in the state at this time.

Police spokesman Sgt. Jeff Flynn said Saturday the Regional Operations and Intelligence Center in West Trenton monitors world events every hour of every day and is keeping an eye on the current situation.

Flynn says it's operating business as usual.

Gov. Chris Christie also said on Twitter state police and the Homeland Security Department are taking steps to protect New Jersey.

Authorities on are alert after at least 127 people died Friday night in gun and bomb attacks in Paris. The Islamic State group has claimed responsibility.

Flynn reminded residents that if they see suspicious behavior they should report it to local police by calling 911.
