PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Philadelphia Chamber Music Society presents Anne Sofie von Otter November 11th at the Perelman Theater.

Artistic director Miles Cohen says of von Otter, “Long been considered one of the finest singers of her generation. She’s a Grammy award winning mezzo soprano, then she really continues to thrill whether it’s in opera houses or in concert halls. People always talk about her ravishing tone or her evocative and unique interpretations.”

Cohen also explained what the pre-concert lecture is all about.

“It’s just in a room above Perelman Theater, in the Comcast circle. That’s open to all the people attending and they can go there and hear more about the poetry, text, the types of music that they will hear that night. Why the singers may have put together these particular pieces.”
