PSPCA Teams Up With Uber To Bring Kittens To Your Workplace

By Paul Kurtz

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Today is National Cat Day and to celebrate, the Pennsylvania SPCA and Uber are offering office play dates.

It's a brilliant idea, you might even say diabolically brilliant.

Who can resist the charms of an adorable kitten? Especially when it's brought to you your place of work for a play date.

That's the deal being offered by SPCA and Uber on this National Cat Day.

The SPCA's Gillian Kocher explains how it works.

"You can just go to the Uber app, and swipe over to kittens and arrange a fifteen minute playdate," says Kocher. "Each playdate is thirty dollars and that money will be raised for the Pennsylvania SPCA and at the end of the day, these cats will come back to our Fishtown satellite location to ideally find them homes.

They tried this for first time with puppies back in August and Kocher says by the end of the day there was a line outside the SPCA's Fishtown Center.
