MALVERN, Pa. (CBS) – Operation Christmas Child, a project of Samaritan’s Purse, is hosting an Operation Christmas Community Packing Party on Saturday, October 24 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Families in the area are being asked to come and help pack shoeboxes with items such as toothbrushes, soap, tissues, band aids, school supplies and stuffed animals.

The items have already been donated and are ready to be packed.

Since 1993, Operation Christmas Child has delivered gift-filled shoeboxes to over 124 million children in more than 150 countries and territories

The event takes place at Bacton Hill Bible Church at 2109 Conestoga Road in Malvern, Pennsylvania.

Additionally, anyone with a computer or mobile device can pack a personalized Operation Christmas Child shoebox gift on the website. Visit samaritanpurse.org/occ to select gift items and include a note of encouragement.
