Can Credit Score Affect Your Romantic Prospects?

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- How important is credit in romantic relationships? A recent study finds a correlation between financial responsibility and happy marriages.

The study conducted by the Federal Reserve Board followed 12 million American consumers over 15 years. It found people with higher credit scores are more likely to find and stay in committed relationships.

The study also links good credit with one's trustworthiness.

"A good credit score is a reflection of someone's responsibility."

"It's something to consider and adjust for if you're getting serious. I don't think that the number one thing as a priority for me."

"If I had met someone who had debt or some credit issues, I might consider not dating them."

So when should you have the credit convo? Several people said after six months is a good time.
