PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — In light of Vice President Joe Biden announcing he will not be running for president, United States Representative Brendan Boyle says he is surprised.

Boyle had tweeted earlier this week that a source told him Biden will run for president, however, Wednesday afternoon the Vice President made the official announcement that he will not run.

Soon after Biden’s speech, Congressman Boyle tweeted: ‘I’m surprised. Clearly something changed. Like many, I admire and respect VP Biden. In the meantime, I’ll stick to my day job!”

Biden said during his announcement, “I believe we are out of time, the time necessary to mount a winning campaign for the nomination.”
