“At Vincodo we primarily seek out individuals who are college educated with degrees in business, economics or communications. Strong analytical, mathematical skills are important, and college-level coursework in statistics is necessary.”

What is the most relevant aspect of your education that applies to your day-to-day job?

“Without a question, high competency in mathematics is essential. When I hear old high school classmates ask on Facebook ‘Why do my kids need to learn algebra and geometry since they will never use it in their jobs?’ I post comments noting that they will need both if they ever want to work at my company! The basics of algebra are the foundations of the marketing analytics we apply on behalf of our clients in order to achieve measurable results.”

What is the most fun aspect of your job?

“I love that every single day there is a new challenge to overcome. While our company has a very consistent weekly schedule of tasks, the objectives and the tactics in our industry are always changing. With companies like Google, Facebook and Apple delivering new technologies on a regular basis, our clients look to us for guidance in how to leverage them quickly as a first mover. Figuring out best practices for making new technologies work is really what gets our engines revving.”

What advice would you give someone just starting out in the field of technology?

“There is a place for a multitude of varying talents in technology-driven job fields. Many people fall in love with the idea of working at a tech-driven company without understanding what the culture will be. It’s so important to make sure that the job you seek matches your personality traits. At Vincodo, we have all job candidates take Myers-Briggs personality tests to ensure that personality traits are correlative to a person not only being able to conduct their work but also enjoy what they are doing on a daily basis. Based on those traits, we position candidates into the job roles most likely to lead to maximum enjoyment and long-term employment.”
