Pierre Jackson To Make Sixers Preseason Debut Friday

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The 76ers point guard battle will add another combatant on Friday night when the Sixers take on the Wizards in preseason action. Pierre Jackson is expected to play for the first time this preseason.

Jackson has had to watch his team from the sidelines this preseason due to a groin injury. According to the team, Brett Brown is ready to allow Jackson to play and make his debut on Friday.

To this point in the preseason, Isaiah Canaan has served as the Sixers starting point guard, while rookies T.J. McConnell and Scottie Wilbekin have battled for reserve minutes.

Jackson has a solid chance to assert himself as the second point guard, at least for the time being. Tony Wroten and Kendall Marshall are both still healing and neither is expected to be ready to go when the season starts.
