PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Former president Bill Clinton was in Center City this afternoon to raise money for his wife’s presidential campaign.

Hillary was not there.

The closed-door fundraiser attracted about 150 Democratic supporters who paid $500 and up to hear Bill Clinton speak at the College of Physicians.

Attorney Joe Mistrano says he’s a Bill Clinton fan. “He seems to be bigger than life. He’s always there. It’s great, too. He’s smart, a very intelligent man. It’s a pleasure to hear him speak.’

Mayoral candidate Jim Kenney says Clinton can still draw a crowd.

“He still has that star quality that, even someone like myself who’s been in politics for almost 40 years, still will go anywhere I can to hear him speak.”

Former governor Ed Rendell described the event as old friends coming to see Bill and support Hillary.
