How Does Jason Peters Know He Won't Get Hurt Again? 'Because I Am Who I Am'

By Andrew Porter

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- There's quotes from players and then there's quotes from Jason Peters. And nobody gets Philadelphia Eagles fans fired up better than the seven-time Pro Bowl left-tackle.

Peters, who has been battling a quad injury, told reporters on Thursday that he is "going to play" in Sunday's critical game against the New Orleans Saints. However, Peters started last week's game too, but had to leave the game after just six snaps.

So how does he know he won't get hurt again this weekend?

Duh. If it's good enough for him, it's good enough for me.

The Eagles desperately need Peters to play, as PFF's 21st ranked offensive line continues to work through early season struggles. In fact, if Peters is unable to go on Sunday, third-year guard Lane Johnson---who is dealing with a sprained MCL and ankle of his own---could possibly be moved to left-tackle.

Similarly courageous to Peters, Johnson told reporters, "Whatever I've got to do, I'll do."

The 1-3 Eagles host the 1-3 Saints in as crucial as a Week 5 game can get on Sunday. With the NFC East up for grabs, the Eagles still can turn their season around.
