When talking about Salvant, Wahl says, “She just turned 26. So, we’re not talking about someone who is very old, but she is the future of vocal jazz performance. She is devastatingly good. She is the reincarnation of Sarah Vaughn. She is an improvisor, she’s a stylist, she’s a vocalist. She’s these great glasses. Her voice is really smooth.”
