Rally Held In Support Of Planned Parenthood In Philadelphia
By Mike DeNardo
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Local supporters of Planned Parenthood supported the agency with a lunchtime rally outside its Locust Street headquarters.
About 200 people, mostly women in pink tee shirts, chanted and clapped in the hopes that Congress would hear their message: don't defund Planned Parenthood.
"We're encouraging people to write letter to their state legislators and to Congress, to push back against the attempts to attack Planned Parenthood and defund those critical services that we provide," said local CEO Dayle Steinberg.
Including STD testing and cancer screenings. She says only 5 percent of Planned Parenthood's services are abortions, and no public money pays for them.
