SEPTA Operating Outbound Service From Center City For Papal Visit Travelers

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- SEPTA says its is now operating rail service to outbound destinations from Center City.

SEPTA offers some points for crowds traveling from Center City following the papal mass:

Regional Rail: For return service passengers should get on at the same stations they were dropped off at during in the morning (Jefferson Station, 30th Street Station, and University City Station).

Broad Street Line: Passengers can board trains at Spring Garden & Walnut-Locust Stations. Passengers will be asked to queue in lines on the street level before entering the stations. If lines become too long, SEPTA is prepared to supplement service from Walnut-Locust with shuttle buses to AT&T Station.

Market Frankford Line: Passengers can board trains at 30th Street and 8th Street Stations. SEPTA will keep 8th Street Station open until the end of service.

Additionally, to avoid peak congestion and lines at stations, SEPTA says participants leaving from Papal events on the Parkway may want to consider a short delay, to stop for dinner, dessert, or snack at many of the businesses before proceeding to stations.
