Warrington Township Police Investigating Apparent Murder-Suicide

WARRINGTON TWP., Pa. (CBS) -- Police are investigating an apparent murder-suicide of a married couple.

Authorities were called to the home of 58 year-old Larry Rothernberger and 56 year-old Mary Ellen Curry at the 2400 block of North Greensward Road.

Police arrived around 11:20 a.m. Saturday after receiving a call from a concerned friend who said was not able to reach Curry, who missed a scheduled meeting Friday.

Upon arrival, authorities located both vehicles in the driveway.

Police found the body of Rothenberger in the master bedroom with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.

Curry's body was found on the bathroom floor with at least one gunshot wound to her back.

Authorities found the family dogs suffered gunshot wounds and were found dead on the kitchen floor.

One dog was a mixed breed and the other a Pomeranian.

Police found an H & K 40 caliber handgun registered to Rothenberger at the home.

Warrington Police Detective are handling the investigation which is still ongoing.
