Weather: Above Average Temperatures Today

By Geoff Bansen

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- It's another cool, quiet morning across the Delaware Valley.

Clouds are once again at a premium today as high pressure is camped overhead. While the morning is cool and comfortable, temperatures will continue to slowly creep upwards, and highs Wednesday are excepted to top out in the mid 80s -- well above average for mid-September.

Philadelphia will continue to defy the rain right on into the weekend, with perhaps some extra clouds near the shore Friday and Saturday due to an area of low pressure offshore. Highs too will remain steadily in the mid 80s through Saturday.

On Sunday, an approaching frontal boundary from the west will bring more clouds back into the picture. Although the day will likely stay mainly dry, it could even set off a localized sprinkle.

Weak as it may be, this frontal passage will cool things off into the 70s for next week.
