Celek: 'Haven't Been This Excited' Since I've Starting Playing

By Andrew Porter

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Yeah, yeah, yeah. We know, you're ready for football.

We're less than a week away from the start of a new NFL season, so naturally, every city and team is excited to get going.

But after a whirlwind offseason which put the Chip Kelly and his Eagles amid the national headlines, coupled with an impressive preseason displaying some new dynamic playmakers, it's fair to say excitement is higher than normal in Philadelphia.

"Well, I love this team that we have. I love the locker room," Eagles veteran tight end Brent Celek told Howard Eskin Friday on the 94WIP Morning Show. "The guys we have on this team, play for each other."

Granted, Celek says this every---

"I know I say it every year, but this year I'm really excited about our team," Celek said. "I haven't been this excited since I've ever played football. Just the group of guys that we got, whether it's on the field, off the field. Just a bunch of good guys you want to play for."

Interesting.

What about Sam Bradford? After his 10-10, three touchdown performances in Green Bay, many expect a monster season from him in Kelly's high-powered offense.

"I think all of us have the ultimate trust in [Bradford] him and believe he can be one of the best quarterbacks in the NF,L," Celek said. "But it takes a lot of us around him, playing well too, to give him that opportunity. I mean, he's a beast dude. Don't get me wrong. He is a beast."
