What's Cooking on 1060: Limited Edition Ice Cream To Round Out Summer

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - As Labor Day weekend approaches and summer winds down, there's plenty of limited edition ice creams you might want to try before the end of the season.
This is the final weekend to pick up a Budino pop at Verde on 13th Street. Restaurateur Marcie Turney says they're on sale Saturday, Sunday and Monday for $5 each:
"So it's the salted caramel custard frozen. We put a layer of salted caramel, we put a layer of cookie crumble and we dip it into chocolate that hardens and we put a little bit of sea salt on the chocolate before it hardens on the outside."
Also just this weekend, Shake Shack General Manager Tom Hunton says they're serving up their specialty peach "concretes:"
"Labor Day Weekend we're going to be serving something we only do once a year and we call it the 'peach pie oh my' and that's going to be our vanilla frozen custard, blended at high speeds with a Shack-made peach pie."
Eric Berley of Franklin Fountain says you have until September 27th to try their unique ice cream concoctions specially developed for the Spruce Street Harbor Park menu:
"This year at Spruce Harbor Park we've added hot Belgian waffles as a sandwich and a mighty warship sundae to represent the USS Olympia with bananas and strawberries and whipped cream."
And Stephanie Roitano of Cappofito says you have a little more time left to get gelato made with seasonal summer Lancaster County fruit:
"So peaches, blueberries are almost out, but raspberries will be in (season) and blackberries for the next couple of weeks... watermelon, anything local."
