By Diana Rocco

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Signs of life are everywhere on Drexel's campus as Fall session is just about to get started and with a warning from campus police.

"I was given instructions that my doors should be locked, not to leave valuables in sight," said Drexel junion Elisa Fredetti.

Fredetti lives next door to one of the homes broken into on the 3200 block of Summer street, one of five burglaries in the Poweltown Village section of campus between Saturday and Monday.

"Been moving my stuff all week because I can't take anymore chances."

Wing Chan lives on the first floor. He came home Saturday to find the air conditioning unit had been pushed out and expensive cameras watches and electronics we're taken.

"I got to sleep thinking about guy who stole my camera, using my camera. Only thing I can do is move on, take this as a lesson," Chan said.

Police have stepped up their patrols by car and bike and students are still keeping a close eye on their surroundings

"Now it's a little more scary. Definitely a little more conscious. Lock doors and windows," said senior Mercedes Barr
