Panel Planning Kids Activities During WMOF

By Kristen Johanson

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - WMOF youth leaders gathered at the Convention Center Monday to begin finalizing their plans for kid activities during the World Meeting of Families.

The panel of nuns, priests and ministry directors tailored their ideas to fit the theme: Love is Our Mission, The Family Fully Alive.

Director of the Youth Congress, Maria Richardson, says they will target kids ages 6-17:

"We have some swing with the sisters for some of the high school girls, where they can dance with the sisters, have hula hoop contests, do some line dancing and still learn about the sisters and what they do and how they serve within the church."

The Congress says they designed the plans to make it memorable for each age-group.

"We have shooting hoops with the seminarians," Richardson says, "where the teens will be able to play some basketball with the seminarians."

Activities for the kids will run Tuesday-Friday during the World Meeting of Families.
