Wednesday's Child: Talibah and Baby Gabriella

By Larry Kane

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- Talibah says she is not just looking for a forever family for herself. "I'm 15. I have a daughter named Gabriella. She's seven months," she says.

She wants to be adopted, but she wants to keep custody of her baby. She's looking for parents for herself -- and grandparents for her daughter.

Talibah says she wants Gabriella to grow up with her birth mother.

"I didn't have my mom or dad there for me when I was growing up. And I don't want my daughter going through the system like I did," she says.

Right now, her life revolves around her little one. "I hope for her to succeed and know that she can do anything that she puts her mind to."

Talibah says she wants to be a veterinarian, so she's working hard in school while raising her baby.

"I just want a permanent place to stay. I just want a forever home. Somewhere I can be happy and somewhere I can call home."

Her social worker Tamara Reddick says Talibah is devoted to Gabriella.

"You can't see it through the radio, but she will smile when she mentions her daughter's name," she says.

But, Reddick says Talibah needs help. "You know, learning what a baby needs, but then she still has her own growing up to do -- as to what a young lady needs."
