The National Constitution Center Partners With Google For November Tech Fair

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The National Constitution Center is partnering with Google for a 1 day "Constitution Building Tech Fair" for international technology entrepreneurs to present services, platforms, and products that could help in a constitution-making process in their countries.
CEO Jeff Rosen said the November 16 tech fair is designed to get new developers involved in drafting constitutions.
"The goal of the tech fair is to introduce constitution drafters to state of the art technologies that they can bring back to their country and share with other countries who are drafting constitutions," Rosen said.
They've partnered with Google for the one day fair, but they previously collaborated with the tech giant to construct a "drafting lab."
Rosen said the developers at the tech fair will be able to share their ideas and inspire other developers from around the world.
"Constitution makers from Iceland, Kenya, Chile, Ukraine, and the Arab states will come and be asked to do exercises about constitution challenges that they've addressed," Rosen said. "They'll create drafts on Google docs and together they'll be able to draw on their common wisdom in order to inspire constitution makers around the world."
The Constitution Center previously teamed with Google for its "Constitute" exhibit, which offers the public a hands-on approach to constitutions around the world.
The tech fair will also offer 'TED' style talks, booths for demonstrators, and a keynote by an international thought leader.
Applications are being accepted to give presentations or speeches.
