Kelce: 'Pretty Confident' I Would Beat Rousey

By Andrew Porter

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Ronda Rousey, at 135-pounds, is the women's UFC champion. Jason Kelce, at 282-pounds, is the Philadelphia Eagles' Pro Bowl center.

Kelce thinks he can take her.

"OK, I'll say this," Kelce told Angelo Cataldi and the 94WIP Morning Show on Friday. "She is one of the best pound for pound fighters on the planet. OK? I have so much respect for the way she just dominates opponents. She's one of the best out there. Now, having said that, I'll say this---I know absolutely nothing about fighting---but I'm pretty confident I would win. I'm not gonna fight her. I'm not gonna fight a woman. I don't think that's a good place for me at all."

Kelce, who joins the 94WIP Morning Show every Friday morning at 7:20 a.m. all season long, will anchor the Eagles' offensive line for the fifth straight season. It's a unit that will be forced to replace two veteran guards in Evan Mathis and Todd Herremans.

Kelce says while there is an open competition for right-guard, the other guard spot is secure.

"Allen Barbre has been here for the last two years," Kelce said. "This is his third year with us. He's a tremendous player. Nobody in this organization is worried about whether Allen Barbre is gonna go out there and get the job done at left-guard. So, we feel like we're set on that side of the ball."
