PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (CBS) — Police are investigating a deadly stabbing overnight in Northeast Philadelphia.

It happened around 3 a.m. Saturday in the 7300 block of Revere Street in the city’s Mayfair neighborhood.

Police say a 21-year-old man spotted a car driving the wrong direction down a one way street, and flagged down the driver. Authorities say the car slowed down, a man got out of the vehicle and stabbed the other man in the chest. The assailant then got back in the car and fled the scene.

The victim was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

Police are searching for a suspect.
