CHERRY HILL, NJ (CBS) — According to New Jersey State Police, the New Jersey Turnpike was temporarily closed in both directions in Cherry Hill due to a gas leak.

Authorities say just before noon, contractors working in the area struck a gas line.

As a result, police closed the NJ Turnpike in all directions at exit 3 and Burnt Mill Road for a short time.

Less than an hour later, Cherry Hill Police posted on their Facebook page: The gas pipe was shut off and police are reopening the local roadways as well as the NJ Turnpike and I-295. Thank you for your cooperation.
