The Visitor Center in Center City celebrated 30 million visitors since opening in 2001. President and CEO James Cuorato says that’s quite an accomplishment.READ MORE: Derek Chauvin Trial: Renewed Calls For Justice Ring Throughout Philadelphia Streets Ahead Of Closing Arguments
“Our numbers have grown over the years,” Cuorato says. “When we started off in your 1 we had 1 million visitors, and we have grown to the point where we now average 2 1/2 million visitors per year.”
Cuorato says staff members collectively speak 9 languages. But he says the visitor center isn’t the only for international travelers. “We give out information on everything in the region,” Cuorato says. “We sell tickets to 65 different attractions in the region. We give out tickets to free films that are historically seemed. We have a number of different tours, everything from walking tours to segways.”
