Authorities: Vehicle Stolen With Baby Inside In Hamilton Township

HAMILTON TOWNSHIP, N.J., (CBS) – Authorities continue to investigate after they say a vehicle was stolen Sunday night in Hamilton Township, Mercer County with a baby still inside.

Police say officers responded to the report just after 6 p.m. at the 1100 block of Chambers Street.

Authorities say the vehicle, with the child inside, was located a few blocks away.

Police say the child was unharmed.

"Leaving a child in a car unattended is dangerous for several reasons. Number one is temperature – how hot is it out. Then the likelihood of the vehicle being taken," says Capt. James Stevens of Hamilton Township Police.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Hamilton Police Division's Criminal Investigations Section at 609-689-5822 or the Hamilton Police Crime Tip Hotline at 609-581-4008.
