HAMILTON TOWNSHIP, N.J., (CBS) – Authorities continue to investigate after they say a vehicle was stolen Sunday night in Hamilton Township, Mercer County with a baby still inside.

Police say officers responded to the report just after 6 p.m. at the 1100 block of Chambers Street.

Authorities say the vehicle, with the child inside, was located a few blocks away.

Police say the child was unharmed.

“Leaving a child in a car unattended is dangerous for several reasons. Number one is temperature – how hot is it out. Then the likelihood of the vehicle being taken,” says Capt. James Stevens of Hamilton Township Police.
