Thousands Pack Wells Fargo Center For Night Of Hope

By Diana Rocco

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Fourteen thousand people filled the Wells Fargo Center Friday night for Joel Osteen's Night of Hope.

"Let today -- July 17th, 2015 -- be a new day of victory in my life," Osteen told the crowd.

"He's just such a great inspirational speaker," says Osteen supporter Glenn Rosen.

"The lessons are very applicable," adds Natalie Hawtin.

Osteen took the stage with his wife, Victoria, to share a faith and bible based inspirational message:

"I'm not talking about religion today I'm talking about a relationship with Jesus," he said to the crowd

"Gods not going to leave you alone, he's already put in you what you need,"  Victoria added.

Osteen is the pastor of Lakewood church in Houston with 40,000 members.  He's written eight NY Times best sellers on living a full life. His radio and TV programs reach more than seven million people each week.

"Part of my message is that God takes you places you never dreamed of, and your blessed to be a blessing," he said.

Something he's seen play out in his own life.

"You wouldn't be alive unless God has another Victoria Infront of you," he adds.

That's why Osteen says his message is for everyone, not just church goers or people who were raised in faith:

"Our ministry is about lifting people up, that's part of our message God is good he is for me he's on my side."

The Night of Hope visits one U.S. city a month. From Philadelphia it's on to San Francisco August 8th.
