Twilight Concert In The Arboretum At The Barnes

By Phran Novelli

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Tiptoe through the Rose Garden at twilight; wander amongst the medicinal plants behind the Greenhouse to find a cure for what ails you; enjoy an amazing array of hostas on display, walk among an outstanding collection of ferns and along the fern wall my class helped to build when I was a student there. Then, don't miss the grove of Stewartias blooming, because even when their blossoms are done, the pattern of their bark is always impressively pretty.

If all that's not enough reason to visit the Arboretum of the Barnes Foundation, tomorrow evening you can also enjoy a concert of jazz standards on their Great Lawn. Pack a picnic, or come straight from work or after your chores are done for the day, and if you don't have time to pack a meal you can buy a boxed picnic dinner there for $10.

On-site parking is free and your admission ticket to the grounds and this concert is only $10, Barnes members and children under 12 are free.

'Twilight In The Arboretum' is happening Thursday, July 16th from 5:30 to 7:30 at the Barnes Arboretum at 300 N. Latch's Lane in Merion, PA. Call 215.278.7200 or get details, directions and reserve tickets at BarnesFoundation.org.
