In the wake of the USWNT winning the Women’s World Cup, you may have missed the men’s team beginning play in this year’s Gold Cup. The tournament is being held all over the US and the men get set to play Panama tonight in Kansas City in their final match of the group stages. After winning their first two matches, the US is a lock to be at the top of their group once the tournament advances to the knockout stages. In case you still have a case of soccer fever, or want to go and see a match in person, following is the schedule for the Gold Cup knockout stages and where the US could possibly play:READ MORE: $35 Million In Federal COVID-19 Relief Coming To Aid Of New Jersey Bars, Restaurants
Quarterfinals July 18th- Baltimore MD M&T Bank Stadium 5 PM
The US as I said will be 1st in their group regardless having already locked up 6 points and no one else in Group A has more than 2 points. As a win will get you 3 points, you can do the math and figure out that the US will be the one seed. The one seed from Group A will play the 3 seed from either Group B or C at the home of the Ravens in Baltimore. Tickets are available starting at $42.
Semi-finals July 22nd- Atlanta GA Georgia Dome 6 PM/9 PM
If the US were to advance to the Semis of the tournament which they should be expected to do, they would head on down to Georgia for the semi-finals next Wednesday.READ MORE: Seven Dead Puppies Found On Entrance Ramp To Route 55 In Vineland
3rd Place Game July 25th- Chester PA PPL Park 4:00 PM
If the US were to lose in the semi-finals, they would still have another match in front of them in the 3rd place game that will be held at the home of the Philadelphia Union in Chester PA, PPL Park. Tickets for the venue are pretty cheap if you want to get in on them now.
Final July 26th- Philadelphia PA Lincoln Financial Field 7:30 PM
Let’s say the US makes it all the way to the final (which the US has done in each of the last 5 tournaments) then they would find themselves in the city of brotherly love. The Linc will play host to the final match and if you want to plan your trip tickets right now are selling for around $50.
