Wednesday's Child: Natalie and David

By Larry Kane
Produced by Timothy McLaughlin

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) —- David and his sister Natalie are looking together for their forever family.

Eleven-year-old David is a sports fanatic. Nine-year-old Natalie is a dancer. While he's playing football and soccer, she's taking ballet lessons.

But no matter how different they are, they love spending time with each other.

(Larry Kane:) "When you're together, what do you like to do together?"

(David:) "we have fun, watch TV, and play together."

(Larry Kane:) "What do you play?"

(Natalie:) "Connect Four."

(Larry Kane:) "Do you play Legos?"

Natalie and David (together): "Yes."

They also love to draw and ride their bikes together -- something Natalie dreams of doing with a permanent family. She even knows what she wants her bike to look like:  "Pink with butterflies on it."

These two siblings can't even imagine being separated: "(We'd be) sad, because we love each other."

Their social worker, Karen Knodel, says this pair needs a devoted, permanent family.

"We're looking for a family that, first of all, can be committed to them," she explains. "Second of all, we're looking for a family where they can get a lot of attention, so we would prefer a family where they're either the youngest children or possibly the only children."

And Knodel says they'd like to maintain a link to their biological family.

"They do have a connection right now to their mom and dad.  And we'd like a family that they could keep that connection."

For more information about adopting David and Natalie or any other child, go to the National Adoption Center's  web site, www.adopt.org, or call 215-735-9988.
