For 2nd Time In A Month, Portuguese Man-Of-War Washes Up On NJ Shoreline

STONE HARBOR, NJ (CBS) – For the second time this month, a dangerous Portuguese man-of-war washed up on a New Jersey shoreline.

Ann Delaney tweeted pictures of the man-of-war that she spotted on the beach of Stone Harbor.

She sent the pictures to the Wetlands Institute.

Last week, another man-of-war was spotted in Harvey Cedars.

Man-of-wars have highly venomous tentacles that can be as long as 165 feet.

For humans, their sting is painful and sometimes fatal.

Experts warn that even dead man-of-wars can deliver a sting.
